Hook Lines or Phrases Jehovah's Witnesses Use to Control You
by flipper into control a person, or control a group of people , any cult , including jehovah's witnesses , have to gain your trust that they are the authority on what you need to know.
even people have been known to use these " catch phrases " to gain trust , or " hook lines " as you'd call them to gain control over groups of people or individually in their own lives.
see if you are familiar with these phrases which empower the sender of the phrase , but demands rapt allegiance from listeners to be the " gospel truth " without challenge , which can take the listeners power away.

The UN Thing
by Princess Daisy Boo ini would like to pick the brains of those in the know..... so i am kinda preparing for the big conversation with my mom, but i am not being brave about it - i have unplugged my phone, just in case she tries to call me tonight.
what i am looking for is a bit of advice on the un thing... i have read the un letter, and i have found the jw spin in response.
what would be a suitable rebuttal for their spin on why they were members?

It was just a couple of days after the Guardian article that they pulled out of the NGO program. Compare the dates with the Guardian article and the time referenced in UN letter that was posted on the UN site.
Remember, be horrified. For example, this isn't, say, your sister you caught smoking, this is your mother with a joint in her hand and her pupils dilated. . .your mother who told you, taught you, threatened you, that if you ever smoked pot she'd throw you out of the house.

No kidding. We'd wonder, Who had a party and we weren't invited??? They always tell the most outrageous worst case scenarios--girl got pregnant AT A PARTY, a brother was murdered AT A PARTY, the police were called to a JW's party.
